85' Budd Viewliner Sleeper - Ready to Run -- Amtrak VI Early #62011 Product Information
The prototype Viewliner Sleepers were designed in the late 80s to replace aging heritage equipment. These new cars were designed as a single level car primarily for eastern routes due to tunnel clearance issues. Production units were built by Amerail/Morrison-Knudsen and entered service in 1995. Improved tooling
Full interiors
Improved diaphragms
GSI metal truck for electrical pickup
Factory-installed wire grab irons
Detailed underbody
Correct 36 scale inch RP-25 turned metal wheels
Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers
