STRASBURG WOOD CABOOSE #12

This is the same Lionel / MTH style Caboose we've seen with many paint jobs over the years. Also typical quality of Lionel at this point in history. I have no complaints with the quality of this product as a good and well made Caboose on "O" Scale. As a collector of STRASBURG RR items in "O" Scale, I always nit-pick about small details. I was lucky to purchase the Nicholas-Smith exclusive Limited-Edition #12 SRR Cabooses offered in 2019 and bought one of each. When this Caboose came out I noticed it appeared to be a brighter Red color and the STRASBURG name was written different. I try to collect ALL "O" Scale Strasburg items, so I decided I had to have it. The 2 Differences I see are: the railings and roof rods are Black on this model, but I struggle to find any past photos showing anything other than yellow in real life. But I'm okay with that minor concern. My biggest "let-down" was when I realized the cupola was incorrect on this model. This is the taller - higher pitched rounded roof style and the real #12 has a shorter - flatter roof. I had not noticed that in the photos of this item for some reason. But my disappointment has mostly resolved itself now. I even have it on my shelf next to the original #12 cabooses I owned already which have more of a correct style roof. Lionel has an other STRASBURG #12 Caboose coming soon with the "Egg-Logo" on it which I have on order, and now I know what to notice in the pre-order photos, I realize it will also have the incorrect shaped roof. BUT at least these 2 Caboose will match each other once it arrives. SO, if you are the most particular person who must have every single detail perfectly exact, the roof will be disappointing. If you are like me and wish every detail could be exact but realize in "O" Scale you must be thankful for what is even made and available, then you should like this Caboose in your collection -- just as I do.
