When the Tohoku Shinkansen Hachinohe opened, the IGR Iwate Ginga Railway was a third sector line between Morioka and Metoki on the Tohoku Main Line, which will be a parallel conventional line. It is operated by connecting to Hachinohe on the railway.
Basically, 2-car trains are operated independently, but 2 + 2 4-car trains can also be seen between Kitakami and Iwatenumakunai.
KATO will commercialize the IGR7000 series 0 series, which was transferred from JR East to IGR Iwate Ginga Railway.
